Kat Edison is a main character in The Bold Type. She is portrayed by Aisha Dee. As of the end of the series, Kat is the Editor-in-Chief of Scarlet Magazine. Previously she was a bartender at the Belle, and before that, head of the Social Media department for Scarlet Magazine, and helped Scarlet's Twitter reach two million followers in Carry The Weight. Prior to this position, she worked as an assistant at the company for two years.

Kat is best friends with Sutton Brady and Jane Sloan. They each began working for Scarlet magazine as assistants before following different paths within the company. She is always there for them if they have problem and always cares about them . she loves them with all her heart .

Adena El-Amin[]
Adena El-Amin is Kat Edison's girlfriend when she first meets Adena they both come off as head-strong but they soon create a bond which leaves Kat confused because she wants to know if she likes Adena as a friend or more than a girlfriend.
Kat makes her acceptance speech for Editor in Chief of Scarlet dedicated to Adena. In Adena's last scene of the show, she and Kat commit to a long term relationship.
